I'm 23 years old live in Belgium. I've known Denise since I was 19 years old and just got my diagnosises. Denise has not only been a great friend who I can have a good laugh with but she has been coaching me through the years too. There is a 6 hour time difference between us but she is always flexible. We live far apart but when we talk it feels like we're in the same room. She is uplifting and realistic at the same time and stays updated to the medical news. She has given me great advice, helped me find the courage to start my own graphic design business and I consider her like a second mom.
Susan and Katie
HI, my name is Susan and I am the mother of Kaitlyn whom is 21 years old. Kaitlyn has worked with Denise several times over the course of the last year. My daughter suffers from many chronic illnesses such as but not limited to Spina Bifida, Fibromyalgia, Depression, and Anxiety. She has had 19 surgeries in her short life. Finding Denise was a blessing. Denise has been a friend, a mentor and an advocate. Her door is always open to these young individuals to chat one-on-one or as a group. She listens to them laugh, cry, give suggestions and problem-solve. Kaitlyn says, the best advice Denise has ever given her is, “take care of yourself first”.
As a parent I would recommend Denise in a heartbeat. She is so calm, gently spoken, and very sympathetic. I have also had sessions with Denise. She never shares with me anything Kaitlyn has said to her in confidence while she listening to me when I am frustrated and feel overwhelmed. No one understands those with these chronic illnesses like Denise.
