Do you ever find yourself searching for the "right" words but you're at a loss for what they might be?? You KNOW the feeling you want to express, but the words...

I find myself in this situation more often than I'd like!! Especially when it comes to talking about Joy and Gratitude with Chronic Illness. I think the reason for this is that I don't want it to sound like I think these things can cure illness or are the solution to everything - truly, I've struggled with finding gratitude and joy many, many times in life - whether because of illness, divorce, being a caregiver to a sick child, depression, anxiety, financial insecurity... well, you get it!
BUT... I have found that learning to seek out Joy - especially the smallest things that bring a smile or giggle - as well as purposely reminding myself of what I DO Have vs. what I don't have - makes a BIG difference in getting through each day.
Recently I came across these quotes from two people I greatly admire! Their words express my thoughts far better than I'm able to do, so I wanted to share them with you in case they resonate.
"And I realize, with gratitude, optimism is sustainable. If you can find something to be grateful for, then you can find something to look forward to, and you carry on." - Michael J. Fox 💜
"What if healing does not mean to live beyond pain? What if instead healing means to find joy right alongside it?" - Kate Speer 💜
I believe that if we can find Gratitude and Joy, along with the pain of illness, then we, too, can carry on. 💜💜
How do you go about finding gratitude & joy with chronic illness? What quotes give you the push you need to "Carry On" during tough times?
