Living at 40% with Alexandria: Chronic Illness Always Finds a Way!

This past week at work wasn’t too bad actually. I know people laugh at me when I word it that way, but in all seriousness, it wasn’t bad. I had an overall “normal” paced work week with only a couple health issues regarding scoliosis flare ups and fibromyalgia flare ups (more specifically my allodynia).

I had a counseling session this past week. I have been doing Telehealth sessions, and I genuinely think it has been helping me figure out my inner thoughts and emotions. I don’t know about you, but I am someone who has difficulty expressing myself. I just am not very self aware, and I joke about being an INFJ as my reasons for that, but it’s been interesting to figure myself out.

I am a pessimistic person, so even though my work week overall was not bad at all, I find myself still focusing on the tiny bad things that occurred during the week. The random co-worker who picked an argument. The random rude person who came to the door. The one day where we were so busy that I didn’t eat lunch until 2:45. This focusing on every single negative thing is a bad trait of mine, but it doesn’t help my fibromyalgia or CFS/ME. I say all of this, because I have a feeling that is why my skin began to flare with allodynia. Isn’t it so funny that even

though this week overall wasn’t bad.. My body found a way?! Oh goodness, it’s just how chronic illness life goes. Even now, my back is still flared up. I’m having trouble getting around, but I will make it.

I hope you’re all making it too, and let me know how your week went!
