Diverse faces form a peace sign on a green background, above text reading "Accommodations Matter" in elegant script.

We’re in a precarious time when it comes to accommodations for people with disabilities. Our needs—and our feelings—are not being respected.

Whether it’s medical support, classroom accommodations, or adjustments to daily life, so many of us are being left behind due to government restrictions. But our needs still matter. Our voices still count. And we have the right—and the platform—to speak up.

Without the proper accommodations:

• Students who need extra time on exams won’t get the support they require.

• People who can’t work without assistance risk losing their housing and becoming part of an already overwhelmed homeless population.

• Individuals who rely on job accommodations to survive will be unfairly blocked from employment.

This is why your voice matters. This is why accommodations matter. This isn’t just a time of being silenced. This is a time to push back, to advocate, and to stand together. Unlike generations before us, we now have the ability to connect with people across the world, to raise awareness, and to demand change.

Let’s use our voice. Let’s use our power.

Comment below: How have accommodations helped you—whether in the classroom or in everyday life?
